Barcelona came from behind to win 2-4 at Levante in the Ciutat de València thanks to goals from Xavi Espart, a Lamine Yamal brace and Karim Adeyemi. Hansi Flick’s side showed character after trailing at halftime and strengthened their La Liga lead with the victory.

The match began with an early blow for Levante, but Barcelona responded quickly: Xavi Espart opened the scoring in the 5th minute following an assist from Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal doubled the advantage in the 19th with another assist from the Brazilian. However, before the break, Gerard Martín was booked for a foul and Levante took advantage of defensive lapses to level before halftime through a penalty converted by Iván Romero in the 79th minute and a goal from Roger Brugué in the 88th.

In the second half, Barcelona regained control. Lamine Yamal scored from the penalty spot in the 48th minute after a handball inside the area, and Karim Adeyemi sealed the win in the 90+3rd with an assist from Marc Bernal after coming off the bench. Hansi Flick made tactical changes: he substituted Lamine Yamal and Pedri for Daniel Olmo and Marc Bernal in the 66th minute, and Anthony Gordon for Raphinha in the 67th, seeking freshness on the flanks.

Territorial dominance was clear: Barcelona had 75% possession compared to Levante’s 25%, although the hosts were more effective in shots with 13 attempts (7 on target) versus the blaugrana’s 12 (6 on target). Both teams committed 11 fouls and received one yellow card each, while the goalkeepers made 4 and 2 saves respectively.

With this victory, Barcelona reaches 12 points after four matchdays and maintains a perfect start in La Liga, with a goal difference of +15. The team arrives at five consecutive wins in all competitions following victories over Feyenoord, Valencia, Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Club.

The next fixture will be at home against Racing Santander, currently tenth in the table, on Tuesday 16 September 2026.
