FC Barcelona will have a unique format in the preseason. The team led by Hansi Flick will participate in the first-ever Friuli Venezia Giulia Cup triangle, a tournament that recovers a less common format in European football. The tournament will be held in the Italian city of Udine and will have a different format than a traditional friendly match. FC Barcelona will play two 45-minute games, first against Nottingham Forest and then against Udinese. The main objective will be to continue accumulating minutes and giving rhythm to the team's competition. FC Barcelona did not participate in a triangular since 2001, when it organized a tournament in honor of the historic goalkeeper Francisco Javier González Urruticoechea "Urruti". In that occasion, three 30-minute games were played and the blue and red team ended up winning the title. FC Barcelona is currently the leader of the league with a 9-point advantage over Real Madrid. In the previous season, FC Barcelona scored 84 goals and conceded 30, with a +54 goal difference. Their next game will be against Levante on February 21, 2027.
