Barcelona SC ends winless streak

Barcelona SC beat Orense 3-0 on Saturday 15 August at the Monumental Banco Pichincha stadium, ending a five-game winless streak. Tomás Rodríguez opened the scoring at 12 minutes, followed by a second goal from the same player at 34 minutes. The third goal, at 67 minutes, came from Jerly Wila, completing the rout.

The negative streak began with a 2-1 defeat to Universidad Católica at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa. Then, as the home side, Barcelona SC suffered two consecutive setbacks: 0-1 against Liga de Quito and 0-1 against Macará, both at the Monumental. The loss to the blue team proved decisive on the bench, leading to the departure of coach César Farías.

The team also drew 1-1 with Leones FC in Ibarra and completed the winless streak with a 0-0 against Mushuc Runa in Latacunga.
