Signing of Jandro Orellana

The 26-year-old midfielder, Jandro Orellana, has signed a two-season contract with Cádiz, with an option for a third. The agreement takes effect this Monday, when the player will immediately join training sessions at the Andalusian club.

Origin and background

Orellana is a native of Gavà and arrived at Cádiz from Estoril Praia in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, where he was contracted until June 2027. His time at Estoril gave him experience in the Portuguese league before moving to the Cádiz B side.

Past at Barça

The midfielder played in the youth categories of FC Barcelona. Trained at the Gavà Football School, he was recruited as a cadet and spent four seasons in the club’s farm team. He debuted with the first team in a friendly against Cartagena in 2019 and also appeared in a match in Australia in 2022 against an A-League side.

International and Andorran experience

Later, Orellana moved to Andorra, where he competed in several campaigns in LaLiga Hypermotion, the division in which Cádiz currently competes. He has also been a Spanish U-19 international.

Next steps

With Orellana’s arrival, Cádiz strengthens its midfield with a player who blends European league experience and training from one of the world’s most prestigious academies. The club hopes his versatility and understanding of Barça’s philosophy will add value to the Andalusian squad.
