Barcelona faces a new challenge after confirming that Roony Bardghji, its young forward, has suffered an ACL injury. The club has announced that the player will undergo surgery in the coming days. This injury is a hard blow for the team, which was considering his future. Before the injury, Barcelona was planning to loan him out to another club after the arrivals of Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon. Bardghji has played only 872 minutes of first-team football last season as a depth option. He joined the club in the summer of 2025 in a reported €2 million deal from FC Copenhagen. Despite being highly regarded before his arrival, Bardghji has struggled to find opportunities in his debut season with the team. He has played as a left-footed right winger and has scored two goals and provided four assists in 28 appearances for Barca in his debut season. He has also earned three senior caps for Sweden but was not named in their 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup. The Barcelona youngster is set to spend at least six months on the sidelines following the surgery. In another matter, Barcelona could sell star defender Jules Kounde this summer who has attracted interest from Premier League champions Arsenal. The Catalan giants are believed to be looking to balance the books as they chase the signings of Rodri and Julian Alvarez. Kounde has reportedly emerged as an option for Mikel Arteta as he can cover both centre-back and right-back. Kounde has established himself as a key player for Barcelona over the years having made 188 appearances for the club since joining from Sevilla in 2022. He has won seven major trophies during his time at the club, including three LaLiga titles. The Frenchman is reportedly set to decide his future in the next few days.
