Barcelona has broken the one-billion-euro revenue barrier for the first time in its history, a landmark moment in the club's ongoing financial recovery. Figures presented at the Assembly last weekend show the club generated €1.06bn in the 2025/26 season, an increase of €66m from the previous year.
The club's board emphasised the significance of the numbers. "The figures reflect the progress of the economic recovery project that the club has driven in recent years," the Barcelona board said. They added that "the goal is to combine steady revenue growth with greater financial sustainability, without ceasing to compete at the highest level on the pitch."
This achievement makes Barcelona the second European club to surpass one billion euros in revenue in a single season, after Real Madrid did so in 2023/24 with €1.04bn. The target now is further growth: the budget for the 2026/27 campaign is set at €1.19bn, representing an increase of €135m. Also, the club expects to post a net profit of one million euros that year, improving on the €18m net loss reported for 2025/26.
This financial boost comes during a period of strong sporting form. Barcelona sits top of La Liga with 21 points from seven games, having won all seven matches. The team has scored 31 goals and conceded just seven, a dominance that gives them a five-point lead over Atlético Madrid.
The winning run includes results like the 1-3 victory at Sevilla on 19 September, featuring a Raphael Dias Belloli hat-trick, and the 7-2 win over Racing Santander. Raphinha is the squad's top scorer with 12 goals in seven appearances.
The economic recovery, years in the making, now aims to solidify the club's financial health without compromising its sporting ambitions. With the team leading the domestic competition and revenue projections rising, the project seeks the final balance between on-field success and off-field solvency.
